How to hide Folder and Applications in Android Phones without any App

Most of the android phones have inbuilt folder and app hiding facilities but users are often found unaware of this feature and they are gullied by advertisers to download applications for this purpose. Sometimes, using an app. too doesn't seem helpful and hiding facilities are restricted to certain files or folders specifically folders like gallery and my files. Here is how you can hide your apps like whatsapp, line, viber, facebook, etc.as well hide specific folders such as folders containing private videos or might be folders with adult content that you want to hide from being visible to children at your home or maybe your girl friend.:P

1. How to hide folders in Android Phones?

Tap on the menu and select “my files” from the grid or list view (as per display setting)of the icons on the screen. Go to the folder that you need to hide and just RENAME it. Insert a “.” DOT before the name of the folder and save it. Now, tap on the options button at the left bottom end (as in most of the phones) and go to setting by scrolling down the pop up menu. You will see “show hidden files” option at the top. Uncheck the option and return to main menu. Now, check for the folder you had renamed. Yes!! You will not see the hidden folder.

2. How to hide App in Android Phones

You might have felt the need of hiding an app from your kids or female friends or maybe from your elders. This is far easier than users think and you need no other application to be installed. Here is how you can do that.
Tap on the menu button and you can view the screen with icons in grid or list view (as per display setting) of the icons. Now, tap on the option button at left bottom end. You will see hide application button at the button of the pop up menu. Tap on that option of “hide applications” and you will see a checkgrid. Check on the applications you want to hide and tap back to main menu. You will now find that the app you hided has disappeared from menu. However, the applications will be still running. This is just to prevent intended access to the app.
Note: If you have created a shortcut on the main screens apart from Apps and Widget window, delete that by dragging to right bottom menu button that will turn to delete button while dragging the icon of the app. This does not delete the app.
