Windows Smartphone Vs Android: Windows Smartphone is Better than Android

Which is the best mobile operating system in the present scenario of smart phones? This question being asked to you, probably the answer would just be a choice between two – windows or android. Many a people deciding to own a smart phone are in dilemma as which operating system to go for when buying a phone. I personally have come across many a status updates over social networking websites like Facebook, G+, etc. that was in the form of a question – Buying a smart phone; Windows or Android? Surprisingly and somewhat obvious, when I scrolled through the comments, it was android winning the battle. This operating system developed by Google has gained unexpected popularity in a short time span. Windows is lagging far behind to the extent smart phone operating system is concerned. Even I have a smart phone “Samsung Galaxy” that runs on android OS. But now after using this phone for a couple of months, I feel I took a wrong decision. Windows is better than android as an operating system to be used in a phone. Let’s make a comparison of the two.

Often propagated through the word of mouth, you must have come to hear that android has an excellent multitasking ability. Are you going with what you heard? Wait!! As per my research over various technical blogs and user experiences shared over the internet, combined with my personal experience using both these phones, I would say not to take those words you heard so serious. Android has the capability for multitasking but most of the phones get slower with every installed application. You must have rarely heard about the multitasking ability of windows phone, possibly because it has always been known for that and is obvious.

Android does not have feature to install applications on the sd card and thus limiting the number of applications to be installed which depends on your system memory. Even the high end android phones have 256 MB of system storage, which may appear less if you are a game or application lover. On the other hand windows phone provides you the option to install applications on the sd card and thus a limitless availability to install apps. Unavailability of the application closing option in a windows phone is another aspect that has always been under criticism. Running of applications in the background eats up your memory and slows down the processor. Ya, I accept it. But then, let’s talk about android. If you do not get out the application through it’s within application exit button, the application keeps running even in an android phone. I have android phone and whenever I go to the “RAM usage” section, I find not less than 10 to 15 applications running in background. I then have to remove them one by one or all at once so as to exit. This is what cannot be done in windows – a sad part.

However, there is something more interesting and much intellectual in windows than android. Windows operating system automatically changes the memory allocation as per application need and when it finds system memory getting full, it automatically stops the background application. Is it not smarter? Yes, it is. You cannot go to the RAM usage section and keep on closing applications, as in an android phone. I guess you have some better things to do in your daily life. Even here, I find windows better and smarter. Last but not the least, as in the Smartphone Market today, windows mobiles offered by Nokia (Nokia Lumia series) are cheaper and have much better hardware composition working along with the Windows operating system by Microsoft in comparison to Android phones. My suggestion – Go for Windows!
